Replaced legacy accommodations software with Orchestrate to streamline disability exemption processing for students, faculty, and staff. Worked with the Office of Disability and Accommodation Support to redefine the business process, configure the platform, and integrate with Canvas — enabling faculty visibility into approved accommodations and ensuring institutional accountability.
Scope of Work

The Legacy Problem:
The previous platform technically worked. It just didn't fit how the office actually operated. Students struggled to submit accommodation requests. Staff struggled to track approvals. Faculty had no clear way to see which of their students had approved accommodations on file, leading to accountability gaps, missed accommodations, and unnecessary conversations.
The Process Redesign:
Replacing software is the easy part. Redesigning the business process around it is the work that determines whether the new platform actually solves the problem or just becomes a different version of the old one. Discovery here meant walking the actual workflow — not the documented one — with students, the accommodations office, and faculty stakeholders, then designing a system around how the work actually happens.
The Canvas Integration:
Approved accommodations only matter if the people responsible for honoring them can see them. Integrating with the LMS closed the accountability loop: students submit, the office processes, approvals route automatically to faculty, and the record lives where the work happens. No more "I didn't know about that exemption" conversations. The institutional accountability that the old system structurally couldn't provide.
